The Lightgate P is a dedicated and cost-effective solution for the origination of large format, high spatial frequency, rainbow diffractive patterns, and images for premium packaging applications.

The system utilises a high-repetition-rate UV pulsed laser to expose diffractive pixels directly onto a continuously moving photosensitive plate at extremely high speeds. Gradient patterns and images, such as 'pillars of light and 'crossed gratings' can be recorded over 2000 pixels per second  - > 200 sq.cm per hour is achievable, single pass at 254 dpi. More complex multi angle images can be created using multiple exposure passes.

The Lightgate P has been intentionally designed to utilise the minimum of optical components thus enabling diffractive patterns and images to be recorded with extremely low noise and very high colour saturation and brightness. ​Lightgate P systems can be custom-built to make any size of diffractive pattern, from 500 x 500 mm (20" x 20") to 1.2 x 1.6 meters (48" x 62").

​The Lightgate P is supplied with Lightgate Control, a dedicated and user-friendly program that controls all aspects of the rainbow coloured diffractive pattern design and mastering process. Included in the software is an algorithmic gradient pattern generator enabling the recording of super smooth gradient transitions, such as rainbow-colored 'pillars of light', 'bull's eye', and 'radial' patterns, without banding over large areas. The system is also supplied with Spatial Imaging's Pattern Generator, a program for the generation of random shape and gradient 'pillars of light' patterns for security and packaging applications.

A dual Lightgate P - Lightgate D system can be provided to create all the features of both systems in a single machine.
